Bungoma County Partners With Hand in Hand Eastern Africa to Fight Poverty
Bungoma County has partnered with Hand in Hand Eastern Africa (HiHEA), a non-governmental organization, to fight poverty in the county.
The partnership aims to support women and youths in creating sustainable businesses and jobs.
This aligns with the county government’s manifesto and Governor Kenneth Lusaka’s agenda of poverty eradication.
During a meeting at the County Headquarters, Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany said that the collaboration is crucial in achieving the county’s development goals.
“The goals of HiHEA are in line with our #LegacyRegime Administration, which aims at eradicating poverty through supporting communities through the creation of sustainable enterprises and jobs,” stated Mbatiany.
HiHEA’s Chief Executive Officer, Albert Njoki, pledged the organization’s commitment to the partnership and expressed their support for women and youths in establishing self-driven and market-based economic activities.
The meeting also explored ways for the county to collaborate with HiHEA on the ‘FUGA KUKU’ initiative, which aligns with Governor Lusaka’s agenda.
