Busia County Government Allocates 250m For Nasewa Industrial Park
Busia County Government through a sub committe cabinet has settled on kshs. 250 million allocation to the Nasewa Industrial park investment.
The amount is to be matched by the National Government towards establishment of the park.
This was resolved in a meeting chaired by Busia Deputy Governor, Arthur Odera on the key actions that the County is supposed to take and on how to engage with the National Government in making sure the park becomes a reality.
“Our key objective is to make sure that we creat an industrial park in Busia that works with the economy of the people of Busia to improve the economic livelihoods of the people” said the DG assuring that anything they will be doing will be geared towards taking advantage of the opportunity that has been presented.
The park which will sit on 843 acres of land in Matayos South will herald a new dawn in terms of job creation and economic empowerment of county residents with keen interest in value addition for food products which the county has comparative advantage.
The program is expected to run along the principles of one County One Product advocacy to help counties reach their full potential, foster economic and socio-cultural growth, and create employment opportunities, especially, in rural areas.
