MSEA Director of Infrastructure, Eng. Edward Karani, served as a distinguished guest speaker at the Capacity Building Workshop for TVET Trainers from Western Kenya in emerging technologies at Bishop Stam Pastoral Center, Kakamega.

The workshop aimed to enhance the institutional and individual capacities of teachers. During the workshop, Eng. Karani shared valuable insights on how TVETs can remain competitive. He emphasized to participants that they play a crucial role as the providers of knowledge.

Urging TVETs to leverage the CIDCs around them as innovation centers for their students, he highlighted Malakisi CIDC in Bungoma as an example where groundnut and soya value addition is taking place, facilitated by an officer from KIRDI.

However, he noted that the community is not fully capitalizing on such opportunities.

His call to action emphasized the effective delivery of high-quality STI content, fostering innovation, life skills, and remarkable achievements for learners.
