CDF OPENS MILITARY INTELLIGENCE CORPS HEADQUARTERS
The Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi on Friday, 18th February 2022 presided over the opening ceremony of the Military Intelligence (MI) Corps headquarters.
Speaking during the event, the CDF asserted the need for capacity building of the MI Corps noting that no war can be won without provision of dependable intelligence.
“Intelligence is one and the most important among the functions in combat thus the need for its capacity development cannot be overemphasized,” he said.
The CDF further commended the Corps for its continued dedication towards providing timely, accurate and actionable intelligence even as the nature of national security threats keeps evolving.
“Threats to national security in the contemporary society are of a hybrid nature and I thus appreciate the role you have so diligently played at ensuring that the nation remains safe,” he added asserting the need to continue observing information security measures for operational success.
MI Corps was established in July 2016 with a view of enhancing the Directorate of Military Intelligence capacity to effectively provide intelligence in support of KDF operations.
Present during the event were the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Service Commanders, General Officer Commanding Eastern Command (GOC EastCom) among other General Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and the Service Members.
