CEC Lands Warns Those Grabbing Public Utilities
The County Executive Committee Member(CEC) for lands Anthony Sitienei has warned those grabbing public land in Uasin Gishu.
He said those who will be found grabbing public land will face the full force of the law.
“For the last six months many parcels of land have been grabbed while others are highly susceptible to the same interestingly, we have found ways to tackle the issue of land grabbing and as a county government, we will shun any plans to grab land, “said the CEC lands
Speaking to the press, Siteinei said to work with Governor Jonathan Bii to ensure that all grabbed public utilities are reverted back and resolve individual ownership of public land.
Sitienei assured residents that any land that has been grabbed will be restored to its rightful owners and ensure public land is preserved.
” Any grabbed land will be reverted back. We are dealing with the issue of land grabbing squarely as it is impeding development in Uasin Gishu County. We have a land committee in place that will review cases of individual ownership of public land. We will do everything possible to fight this menace in the county,” Sitienei said.
Sitienei noted that anyone caught grabbing land will face the law.
This comes after Uasin Gishu Governor warned those who have grabbed public utilities saying those who will be found will face the full force of the law.
