Chabagon Dam coming soon- Governor Rotich
Trans-Nzoia Governor Wisley Rotich, KVDA Chairman Mr. Mark Chesergon and Emsoo Ward MCA Christopher Cheboiboch joined residents of upper Emsoo for a public participation exercise towards the construction of Chabagon dam.
The planned works include extension and rehabilitation of Emsoo Water Project and will be implemented by the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA).
The pipeline will also be extended to reach more people in Kokwao and Kapchelal Sub Locations. Extra tanks will also be constructed and to enhance water distribution in the area.
At the meeting, the Governor announced that tendering process of Singore-Kibendo pipeline is on course.
He added that the second phase of Yokot dam which entails installation of solar pumping, construction of a tank at Kiptingo and laying of distribution networks for Kipsoen is currently at the design stage.
KVDA is implementing several other projects which includes drilling of boreholes in Soy North and Soy South Wards, Kamsiwet and Chepkum irrigation schemes and the rehabilitation of community water furrows in Marakwet East and West respectively.
Present was CEC Water Jason Lagat,CO Isaac Koech, engineers from KVDA and other County staff.
