CHURCH LEADERS PREACH PEACE DURING BURIAL OF BUSIA COUNTY REVENUE OFFICER

Politicians and church leaders today underscored the need to observe peace during this electioneering period, noting that the interest of county residents is more important than an individual.

They were speaking during the burial service of Busia County Revenue Officer, Michael James Orupto, 59, at Ang’ololo village in Amagoro, Location, Teso North Sub County. The late was based in Teso North Sub County.

Amagoro Parish Archdeacon Rev, George Etyang who delivered the summon told politicians to look for votes with wisdom instead of using a pack of blatant lies to woe voters.

Teso North Azimio coordinator, Ishmael Orodi said the region needs condusive environment and fair playing field for all contestants, adding that they are working around the clock to deliver 99 percent of Azimio Presidential candidate, the Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga.

He likened politicians to biblical Aron and Moses. God had commanded Moses and his brother Aaron to gather the congregation together and speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield water. Instead of following instructions Moses struck the rock twice with his rod and there was water. God then punished them by declaring they will not reach the promised land.

Teso North Sub County Administrator, Zipporah Amoit told the youths not be be used by politicians to cause chaos during campaigns warning them of dire consequences.

The deceased widow Dorice Amojong described her late husband as a responsible person who loved people to an extent that he could call anyone passing by to have a cup of tea or anything to bite.

” You were attracted to me and vice versa. It was love at first sight whereby your uniqueness triggered my heart. In 1985 we got married and were blessed with seven children,” she said.

Officers who attended the burial of their colleagues included Sub County Revenue Officers, Zablon Okochi (Teso North), Vincent Omailo ( Matayos), Accountants from Revenue Directorate, Michael Ikolak, Eliud Onguyo, Abraham Ipomai, County staff union women representative, Grace Apadeet and treasurer county staff welfare, Lilian Luvisi.
