Cleophas Malala Condemns on Deputy Rigathi Gachagua
Former United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General, Cleophas Malala, has strongly condemned the recent attack on Kenya’s Second Deputy President, H.E. Rigathi Gachagua, EGH, and the violent disruption of a solemn burial ceremony in Limuru, calling the actions “despicable, inhuman, and backward.”
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Malala expressed his outrage at the events, which he described as a stain on Kenyan society. He emphasized that such behavior should never be tolerated in any democratic nation. “In a society such as ours, such scenes should not be allowed to play out,” Malala said, highlighting the importance of preserving peace and dignity in public life.
Malala also extended words of encouragement to Gachagua, a longtime ally and fellow leader within the UDA party. “Feel encouraged, my truthful brother,” Malala wrote, suggesting that the attacks on the Deputy President were not only unjust but part of a wider scheme to undermine leadership and destabilize the country.
In his message, Malala further alluded to a coming reckoning for those responsible for the disruption, stating, “They will scatter in 1000 different paths, a time is coming.” His words suggested a sense of inevitability, implying that those behind the attacks would eventually face justice for their actions.
The incident in Limuru, which saw rowdy mobs storm a burial ceremony in a disturbing show of political hostility, has sparked widespread outrage among Kenyans, with many political leaders condemning the violence. Malala’s statement added to the growing chorus of condemnation, underscoring the need for unity and respect for the rule of law.
As Kenya continues to navigate political tensions, Malala’s comments reinforce the importance of leadership that fosters national unity and healing, urging Kenyans to focus on building a peaceful and progressive future.
