Comedian Timothy Kimani alias ’Njugush’ left the crowd at Nyayo Stadium in stitches during Jamhuri Day celebrations.

He decided to cut his journey short and ran across the field instead of around the track

Comedian Timothy Kimani alias ’Njugush’ left the crowd at Nyayo Stadium in stitches during Jamhuri Day celebrations.

The entertainment segment was headed by comedian Vincent Mwasia ‘Chipukeezy’ who introduced the Kenyan artists where they were to do a relay around the stadium.

“Mr. President this is not an ordinary relay but it has some of the best content creators in Kenya,” he said.

Njugush, MCA Tricky , Kioko, Crazy Kennar, Mungai Eve, Terence Creative, Azziad Nasenya, Jacky Vike, and other popular content creators entertained President Ruto and guests at Nyayo Stadium with a relay race.

The fastest man in Africa Ferdinand Omanyala was also part of the relay.

As the relay match was in session, Njugush decided to cut his journey short and ran across the field instead of around the track.

“ Njugush wacha.. wacha… kimbia ukizunguka ( Njugush stop, stop, run around the stadium),” Chipukeezy said.

President William Ruto burst into laughter as the VIP people also joined him.

The Permanent Presidential Music Commission (PPMC) had named artists that will be entertaining guests and attendees of the Jamhuri Day celebrations.

The commission has listed diverse artists from diverse genres with a focus on patriotism and nationalism as well as culture.

“Kenya has a diverse cultural heritage, especially in music and the permanent presidential music commission is committed to ensuring its protection and development through quality productions such as during national celebrations,” the commission noted.

The list also entails seasoned musicians, as well as new entrants, seasoned artists set to perform include, Chris Adwar, Atemi, Manasseh Shalom, Serro and Wambura Mitaru while ‘Kuna Kuna’ hit maker Brandy Maina, Ndovu Kuu, Jovial, Masauti, Faith Stan and Dufla Diligon, will certainly entertain the younger generation of attendees.
