Commissioner Dr. Isabel Waiyaki Meets with Governor Mutahi Kahiga
Commissioner Dr. Isabel Waiyaki today met with the #nyericounty Governor, Mutahi Kahiga. They discussed collaboration between CRA and the County Government: how to enhance the county’s Own Source Revenue (OSR) and Equitable Revenue Sharing.
Dr. Waiyaki lauded the County for topping the counties in revenue collection at 42.2% in the first four months of FY2023/24. Already, Nyeri County is in the process of finalizing on a new valuation roll, to help the County triple revenue on rates.
The County has gazetted a valuation court that will start sittings on 8th January, 2024 to resolve all disputes for the residents to negotiate lower and simpler rates and increase compliance, to enhance OSR.
