Consultative Forum on Economic Transformation Held in Nairobi
In a bid to foster successful implementation of the Government’s economic transformation agenda, a consultative forum was held at the Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi, focusing on priority development programmes. The meeting, which aimed at aligning national and county development policies, was attended by Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang and Members of Parliament from the region, including Julius Melly (Tinderet), Marianne Kitany (Aldai), Josses Lelmengit (Emgwen), Bernard Kitur (Nandi Hills), Paul Biego (Chesumei), and Cynthia Muge (Woman Representative).
The consultative session underscored the importance of continuous dialogue between the national and county governments to ensure seamless service delivery, enhanced accountability, and equitable resource distribution across the country. Governor Sang emphasized that harmonizing development policies and programs between the two levels of government is essential for achieving sustainable growth and improving the livelihoods of citizens.
In his address, the Governor highlighted several key development priorities for Nandi County, stressing the need for collaboration with national government officials and lawmakers to address the county’s infrastructure, healthcare, and agricultural challenges. The MPs also voiced their support for the Government’s agenda, pledging to work closely with both the national and county governments to ensure effective implementation of development programs.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to discuss current and future projects, with a focus on enhancing intergovernmental cooperation and ensuring that national resources are shared equitably to benefit all citizens. Participants expressed confidence that through such engagements, Kenya can achieve its broader economic transformation goals.
The forum concluded with a commitment to strengthen consultation efforts between elected representatives and government officials at both the national and county levels to accelerate the delivery of essential services.
