Uasin Gishu County leadership is in the process of creating more space within Central Business District (CBD); a move that will see a fresh look and more space to allow the town to rejuvenate and create a safe environment for all residents.

In a consultative meeting held by the Ag. Chief Officers drawn from Physical Planning; Planner Daniel Koech, Lands-Ms. Nelly Jerotich, Trade-Mr. Kipleting Mengich and Roads-Eng. Julius Rono the discussions on best ways to decongest the town were put across.

The team discussed on workable relocation of matatu saccos operating within petrol stations; whom in their daily operations have not prioritized safety of the passengers boarding and alighting from their vehicles.

The team also identified convenient areas for picks and drops by boda boda operators that would ensure order is restored within the CBD.

“We are looking at regulatory frameworks that would best suit the situation and ensure that proper zoning is achieved to ensure that all issues are put into perspective and all stakeholders engaged,” noted Planner Koech.
