County Hosts the CoG and Senate For Preparation of Devolution Conference
The County Government of Uasin Gishu through its Department of Devolution has hosted the Council of Governors (COG)and the Senate to assess the County’s progress in preparation for the upcoming Devolution Conference, scheduled to take place from August 15th to 19th.
This significant event aims to showcase the County’s achievements and discuss crucial matters related to devolution.
The delegation led by County Executive Committee Member for Devolution, Elijah Kosgey, warmly welcomed them upon their arrival.
The team embarked on a tour of key venues earmarked for the conference, including the Eldoret Sports Club, which will serve as the main grounds. Another vital location visited was the Hill School, designated as the registration center for the event.
The council members also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful Eldoret Arboretum, where a ceremonial tree planting event will be held during the conference.
This initiative not only emphasizes the County’s commitment to environmental sustainability but also adds a touch of natural elegance to the overall conference experience.
In line with Uasin Gishu’s renowned sporting heritage, the delegation witnessed the preparations for the Athletics events at Kipchoge Keino Stadium. This sets the stage for a thrilling showcase of athletic talent, showcasing the County’s passion for sports.
Following the visit, CECM Kosgey convened a meeting with the CoG to discuss the progress and arrangements for the Devolution Conference.
During the discussion, Kosgey assured the Council that all departments are working diligently in collaboration to ensure the success of the event.
The meeting was attended by Chief Officers, Chief of Staff and Directors, further highlighting the County’s commitment to a coordinated and efficient approach.
With the County’s rich resources, breathtaking landscapes, and the tireless efforts of its dedicated officials, Uasin Gishu is poised to shine brightly at the upcoming conference.
