County, Israel Government to Set Up Paediatric Playground and Cardiac Unit in Huruma

Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration is committed to enhancing quality, timely and effective health care services to its residents across the County as outlined in his second pillar of the Nguzo Kumi agendas.

On Thursday, Chief Officer for Promotive and Preventive Health, Mrs Joyce Sang, visited Huruma Sub-County Hospital to identify the ground where the paediatric playground will be established by the Israeli Government, this will also act as a source of therapy for the children.

The Israeli Government has pledged to sponsor the construction of a pediatric playground and a cardiac care unit at the hospital, a significant development for the facility, which has been working to provide adequate healthcare services to residents of Uasin Gishu County.

Speaking during the visit, Mrs Sang noted that the playground will provide a much-needed space for children to play and engage in physical activities because it is essential for their growth, health and development.

“The Israel government’s commitment to supporting healthcare services in our County is a testament to their goodwill and commitment to improving the lives of the residents because of the reflection we have with them in the shared values such as compassion and social justice,” says Sang.

She also noted that the construction of the pediatric playground will go a long way in improving healthcare services in the area and enhancing the quality of life for the residents.

On his part, Israel’s ambassador to Kenya, Michael Lotem, pledged to work with the County Government to improve the health care services noting that they will set up the pediatric playground and also install the Cardiac Care Unit which will provide specialized care for patients with heart conditions.

The cardiac care unit is a critical service that is currently lacking in many healthcare facilities in the area, the specialized health service will be a boost to healthcare in the county.
