County seeks support from KENHA to complete the Musikoma -Kanduyi dual carriage

Bungoma county government has sought support from the Kenya national highways authority in the completion of the Musikoma -Kanduyi dual.
This has been informed by the constrained budget the county is facing .

“Due to our constrained budgets we have engaged Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) on matters completion of Kanduyi-Musikoma dual-carriage Way project,”Said governor Lusaka .

So far the county government has spent Sh1.048 Billion on the road which is still incomplete.

Works that are unfinished include one layer of tarmac on the whole 6.7kilometers , street lighting , construction of Midian to separate lanes ,road markings and installation of Bumps .

Others areas that are yet to be completed include roads furniture and foot bridges .

In a meeting between county roads officials and KeNHA officials led by Engineer Ezekeil Fukwo Director maintenance and Engineer Philemon Koech regional director they agreed that KeNHA will follow up on possible ways to assist the county offset the burden .

“This is a follow up to our initial meeting at our office headquarters with governor Lusaka where we are evaluating how we can come in as an agency to complete this road,” Said Ezekeil Fukwo who is in charge of maintenance.

The KENHA officials also took into consideration the wish list on the road by the county government that was not included in the initial plan of the road .

This include erection of a fly-over at Kanduyi , construction of access roads joining the dual and extension of closed drains to cover the entire road.

They will also put into consideration construction of outfalls drainage systems to River Kahalaba.
