County Steps Up Against Ilicit Brew
Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration has stepped up the fight against the distribution up Aar AgainstIlicand consumption of illicit alcohol in a bid to restore sobriety and instigate socio-economic growth in the people across the Country.
The County Government through the Department of Health Services on Thursday held a Peer Leaders Sensitisation Meeting in Turbo to explore more strategies that will aid to destruct individuals from alcohol drinking culture.
The Program Officer for Rehabilitation and Treatment, from the Directorate of Alcoholic Drinks and Control Board, Joan Chebon revealed that the department is still committed to ensuring a healthy society through other empowerment programs to promote the living standards of residents.
She encouraged the Peer Leaders to spread the information to all alcohol dependants in society to form groups and take advantage of the golden opportunity to access training and funds that will expand their projects that will earn a better and healthier living.
“As a department, we are going work with our counterparts in the Department of Trade to assure benefits from the county-affirmed funds for cooperative societies and Saccos,” Ms Chebon added.
