CS Bore, PS Kaituko Welcome German Delegation
The Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Hon Florence Bore today afternoon welcomed the delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany led by the Deputy Ambassador Mr. Alexander Fierley, to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. Their discussions centered around opportunities available for the Kenyan worker and fostering safe and orderly labour migration between Kenya and Germany.
In March this year, His Excellency the President Dr William Ruto was in Germany; his visit was followed by the Germany Federal Chancellor, Olaf Scholz coming to Kenya. As a result, todays meeting follows up on discussions on the demand for skilled labour in Germany.
In fostering safe, ethical and orderly Labour migration, The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has drafted an Agreement which will strengthen cooperation between the two countries and a framework for employment of Kenyan Workers in the Federal Republic of Germany. A Task force is also in place to ensure Labour Migration thrives.
