CS Water Sanitation and Irrigation Tour and Inspection of Kirandich Phase 2 and Chemususu Water Supply Projects in Baringo County

The cabinet Secretary Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Zacharia Njeru accompanied by the Italian Ambassador to Kenya Roberto Natali made a tour of duty to inspect water projects in Baringo County.

The high level delegation was received by the Baringo County leadership led by the Governor Baringo Benjamin Cheboi and the Baringo County Commissioner.

Later on before proceeding to the field, the CS briefed the Media on the progress of the projects in the county of Baringo. He stated that Non Revenue Water is a menace not only in Baringo County but in the entire country. On his part, the Italian Ambassador revealed that Kenya has a long standing collaborative and cordial relationship, sparning for several years among the two countries.

Among the projects visited by the CS included Kirandich dam site and tree planting at the venue. The team inspected Kabasis/Kituro tanks. The groundbreaking of the construction of the pipeline works along the Kabarnet-Marigat Highway near Kapropita was launched.

The layout presentation of Chemususu Phase 2 and last mile connectivity program at Muserechi. The water will upon completion, will serve areas in Eldama Ravine, Mogotio and Rongai constituencies. All area Members of Parliament were in attendance including MPs Hon. Chebor, Reuben Kiporek and Sirma.

The Cabinet Secretary was flanked by the Water Secretary Eng SAO Alima EBS, Chair CRVWWDA Mathenge Nderitu and CEO Murei.
