Deputy Governor Hosts Tirop’s Angels Foundation

Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor, Evans Kapkea, hosted a delegation from Tirop’s Angels Foundation, led by the foundation’s head, Ms. Viola Lagat, for a productive courtesy meeting at his office on Thursday morning. The meeting, which focused on strategizing for an upcoming event to combat **gender-based violence (GBV), laid the groundwork for an important discussion aimed at raising awareness and promoting action against violence affecting individuals in the community.

The highly anticipated event, set to take place on Sunday, December 1st, is expected to attract a wide array of dignitaries from county, national, and international levels. It promises to serve as a platform for open dialogue, education, and collaboration among various stakeholders working to tackle gender violence.

During the meeting, Deputy Governor Kapkea emphasized the need for a **collective societal approach in addressing gender violence. Also present at the meeting were **County Secretary Mr. Edwin Bett, CECM for Education, Vocational Training, Gender, Social Protection, and Culture, Mr. Anthony Sitienei, Chief Officer of Administration, Ambrose Tarus, and Chief of Staff, Mr. Nicholas Chepkwony. These key county officials expressed their full support for the upcoming event and the ongoing efforts to address gender-based violence in Uasin Gishu.

The event, which promises to foster greater awareness and action in combating GBV, aligns with the county’s broader commitment to creating a safer and more inclusive society for all.
