Dr. Belio Kipsang Opens 2024 KCSE Exams at Changamwe, Urges Adherence to Exam Integrity
The Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Dr. Belio Kipsang, presided over the opening and issuance of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams at the Changamwe Sub County, Mombasa, on Monday. In his address, Dr. Kipsang urged both candidates and exam supervisors to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations set out by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to ensure the integrity and fairness of the examination process.
“We must maintain the credibility of our exams and ensure that all candidates are given a fair and equal opportunity,” said Dr. Kipsang. He emphasized that any malpractices or violations of exam rules would not be tolerated and that the ministry was committed to providing a secure and transparent examination environment.
Dr. Kipsang also took the opportunity to encourage the candidates, wishing them success in their exams. “This is a critical moment in your academic journey, and I urge you to stay focused and do your best. Your hard work will pay off,” he said, offering words of motivation and reassurance.
The Principal Secretary was accompanied by local education officials and members of the security team who will oversee the smooth administration of the exams throughout the region. He also took time to thank the supervisors and invigilators for their continued dedication to ensuring a smooth and secure examination process.
The KCSE exams, which began earlier this week, are being held across the country with stringent measures in place to curb cheating and other forms of misconduct. As of today, candidates are sitting for their first papers, and the exams will run for several weeks.
With over 800,000 candidates sitting for the 2024 KCSE exams, the Ministry of Education remains committed to maintaining high standards of examination integrity and fairness across all regions.
