Dr. Ekrah Ndung’u Inspires AIRADS Graduands with Message on Lifelong Learning
Dr. Ekrah Ndung’u, Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges, delivered a powerful message on the importance of lifelong learning during her address to the recent graduating class of the African Institute of Research and Development Studies (AIRADS) in Eldoret.
Reflecting on her own educational journey, Dr. Ndung’u shared her experiences of pursuing knowledge through evening classes at the university and various training programs in South Africa, Dubai, and online courses in the United States. “I once thought that a four-year degree and multiple certifications were the keys to success,” she stated. “But I learned that true survival in today’s volatile world requires a ‘70-year degree’ in lifelong learning.”
Her inspiring words encouraged the graduands to embrace continuous learning, emphasizing that life itself is a teacher far more profound than traditional education. “If the University of Life hasn’t taught you well, it’s time to tighten your safety belt and strengthen your emotional muscles,” she advised.
Dr. Ndung’u’s address resonated with the graduates, motivating them to adopt a mindset of curiosity and resilience as they step into the next chapter of their lives. The ceremony highlighted the significance of adaptability in an ever-changing world, reinforcing the idea that education extends beyond the classroom.
