Dr. Philip Kiptanui Kirwa Takes the Helm: New CEO Appointed at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital”
Dr. Philip Kiptanui Kirwa has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), effective May 17, 2024.
The announcement, made by the MTRH Board of Management, follows a rigorous recruitment process and the endorsement of Mr. Felix Koskei, EGH, the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service.
Dr. Kirwa brings extensive experience and a distinguished track record to his new position, having served in various capacities over the past two decades.
His expertise spans clinical practice and organizational management, with roles including Medical Director of Private Wings, Director of Reproductive Health, and most recently, Senior Director of Clinical Services at MTRH.
Dr. Kirwa, a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a Master’s degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, is registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council, and holds memberships in professional associations such as the Kenya Medical Association and the Kenya Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society.
Known for his commitment to enhancing patient care and implementing innovative healthcare solutions, Dr. Kirwa’s leadership style prioritizes patient-centered care, operational efficiency, and the professional development of medical staff.
