Business community hailing from Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County have on governor Jonathan Bii to include them in his government.

They claim businesses in the county largely depend on them and their inclusion will be for the
growth of the county and will help in decision-making.

This comes after people from the Uasin Gishu Business Community have been nominated into the national and county assemblies much to the delight of the business people but feel there is still some room for more representation.

“We are thankful to president William Ruto for nominating one of us to the National assembly. This is something that has never happened in this county. We are also thankful to UDA party for nominating two people from the business community to the County Assembly. We have faith in this new government and we request more positions in the county government.” said Shadrack Ndegwa Chairman Uasin Gishu Business community while speaking to the press.

Speaking on the running battles between hawkers and the county government, the businessmen claimed inclusion in the county government will not only help them grow but also improve relations with the government of the day as they have never had representation in the county assembly.

“We are requesting more strategies that will help the small traders down here. For a long we have had running battles with the county council but we ask for more representation that will enhance our voice as one person cannot form a government but with more people, more favorable policies will be brought forward for the benefit of the whole county.” Added Josephat Gachohi.
