Eldoret Gospel Ministers Want The Government To Open Churches

Eldoret Gospel  Ministers Association now wants the government to allow the church to meet  for prayers.

Led by their chairman Bishop Peter Simwa they said its sad that  the government  has allowed hotels to operate while denying churches the same. 

“We are calling on the government to allow the church to meet  for prayers  and in seeking  God’s intervention  while adhering  to the government’s directives,” said Bishop Simwa.

He said that they note that president Uhuru Kenyatta always called the church to pray  whenever  Kenya  faces a challenge.

Bishop Simwa said that the church should be listed as an essential service  provider since kwnya is 85 percent Christians, and they should not be  denied their importance of getting spiritual nourishment.

“It is sad that the government  has allowed  other  sectors  that offer essential  service  to operate  and  as such the  church  which offers  essential  spiritual  services  has been denied the same,” added the Eldoret Gospel  Ministers Association chairman.

They further said  that the daily briefing which is usually carried out by the CS Health Mutahi Kagwe should be done twice per week to help restore how  in the lives of the people.

“A church Minister should also  be included in the COVID-19 briefing  to pray and give hope to the Nation,”Bishop Simwa added.
