Eldoret Human Rights Activist Speaks on Kerio Valley Killings

Uasin Gishu Center for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD) programs officer Kipkorir Ngetich has called on the government and other stakeholders in charge of security to take serious actions concerning the insecurity issues in Kerio valley, Elgeyo Marakwet.
Speaking to the press in his office Kipkorir Ngetich says that due to prolonged insecurity in Kerio valley and its surroundings has led to people living in fear not knowing what will happen next.

The residents from the region have not only l;odt their animals but also innocent lives of their loved ones.

This comes after three children were killed by bandits on Saturday in broad day light,an attack which Ngetich adage to be sponsored by unknown people with certain interest .

“I call upon president Uhuru Kenyatta to flag off Kdf soldiers to the volatile Kerio for residents to continue with their daily activities since at the moment the situation on the ground is worse

‘’Kenya is one among many countries which follows the rule of law and people should not be leaving or ,working in fear. President Uhuru Kenyatta is the one in charge of armed forces in Kenya,and he has every capacity to order for the search of all culprit and people/politicians supporting their evil activities, for their personal gains,” he said.

The same statement has also been echoed by Uasin Gishu county governor Jackson Mandago who was speaking in an occasion held at soy sub county on Monday on matters concerning peace as the country is heading to election on 9th of August .

Mandago further requested the communities living in Kerio valley ,Baringo and Elgeyo Marakwet to wind up their differences and re-unite for peace to subsist.
