Uasin Gishu Center for Human Rights and Democracy (CHRD) programs officer Kipkorir Ngetich now wants stern actions to be taken against parents who frogmarched teachers due to poor performance.

Speaking to the press Ngetich says this is against the law and urged the government to take stern actions against all parents that were involved.

“It’s against the law for parents to forcefully remove teachers in a school due to poor performance, instead they should follow the due process,” said the Eldoret-based Human Rights Activist.

“We urge the Ministry of Education and Teachers Service Commission (TSC)to take stern action on their field officers in the affected schools where they have a history of poor results. This is because they slept on their job and stern actions should be taken against them,” he added.

This comes after parents at Mafuta Secondary School in Uasin Gishu County and St Gabriel Isongo Secondary forcefully ejected the school principal due to poor performance.
