Eldoret: Kimutai Kirui Pulls Out of the Canada and Finland Scandal Protests
Human Rights Activist for the Center Against Torture, Kimutai Kirui has pulled out of the Finland and Canada scandal aggravation.
Kirui has been leading parents and students in demonstrations calling for the refund of those who were affected in the Canada and Finland Scandal.
Speaking to the press Kirui said he pulled out due to political interference on the same.
“The reason as to why we stopped is because of political interference, It is high time we stop engaging politicians on legal matters, the reason why most things are strolling in the country is because we let politicians interfere in the processes, that is DCI, EACC and courts,” said the Human Rights activist.
He said the moment they discovered that the whole process was being interfered with by politicians, it was prudent for them to pull out.
“I want to officially state that I am no longer part and parcel of demonstrations for students and parents who were affected by the Finland and Canada scandal. No one should drug myself in any demonstrations that will be done, “stated Kimutai.
He added that he did his best and within his capacity to fight for justice and through his efforts the victims were able to file petitions in court and now the case is before the court of law.
“As a firm, we would wish to make it clear that we did our best in seeking justice, We have stated our reasons for withdrawal, and we would like to tell parents and students to continue with their protests or any other way of seeking justice, “said the Activist.
The Finland and Canada programs were started under the leadership of Jackson Mandago who is now the senator of Uasin Gishu County, The students were supposed to go for their studies in 2021.
