Eldoret: Parents Victims of Finland and Canada Scholarship Hold Demos
Parents and victims of Finland and Canada scholarship fiasco in Uasin Gishu County Wednesday held peaceful demonstrations in Eldoret Town.
The demos started at the County Commissioners Office to the to the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) offices where they delivered their petition.
They disrupted transport in the busy Uganda road carrying placards calling for their refund.
They said they want President William Ruto to intervene so that the former governor now Senator Jackson Mandago and the Current governor Jonathan Bii pay refund them their money.
They said they will demonstrate on a daily basis and will not allow the devolution conference to continue unless their money is paid in full.
Uasin Gishu is the rural home to President William Ruto and only time will tell what will come after.
They were led by Eldoret based human rights activist Kimutai Kirui, parents and students.
