Eldoret Police Net 580 Liters of Illegal Alcohol in Raid
Police in Eldoret have netted 190 liters of Ethanol and 390 liters of Changaa.
Speaking to the press Kapseret Sub-county OCPD Sarah Chumo said one notorious suspect was arrested.
“Today our officers together with Multi-agency managed to arrest a notorious illicit brewer Moses Mwangi alias Shaddy who has been selling ethanol. We arrested him with 90 litres of ethanol and 390 litres of Changaa,” said Chumo while speaking to the press.
He said the suspect will be presented in Court after investigations are over.
“Ethanol is harmful to your life don’t attempt using it,” he added.
The Kapseret Subcounty OCPD further revealed that he has closed over 21 bars and wines and spirits which haven’t met the standards.
“I want to give a stern warning to those operating bars that they should only sell standardized liquor. Those bars that we have closed will only be opened if they meet our rules and regulations,” she added.
She noted that the crackdown will continue to ensure that the illicit brew is a thing of the past.
“I want to call upon residents to act as our watchdog by reporting anything happening in their midst and we promise to take stern actions against them,” she noted.
