Eldoret:The Head of a Woman who was Beheaded by Lover Found
The head of a 33-year-old woman whose body was found with the head missing almost two weeks ago in Kaptebe has been retrieved from river Sosiani.
The mother of three is said to have been killed in what is believed to be a love triangle after her lover John Kirwa chopped off her head using a machete after a short misunderstanding.
Confirming the incident, Turbo Sub-county police commander, Edward Masibo, said the murder weapon and the motorcycle used to ferry the head to the river have been recovered.
“Initially we were unable to recover the head due to the pounding rainfall witnessed here but our efforts have become successful. Both the machete and the motorcycle are in our custody and as we speak the case is pending before the court,” said Masibo.
Three suspects linked with the murder are currently being held in the Eldoret Central Police Station, including the bodaboda rider who assisted the prime suspect, John Kirwa, in ferrying the head to the fast-flowing river.
Masibo further noted that they have launched investigations following the murder of a suspected middle-aged man who was lynched by a mob at West Indies estate in Eldoret On Tuesday.
The young man is suspected to have snatched a mobile phone from a woman who raised the alarm forcing area residents to corner the suspect and lynched him to death.
“Police Officers from Huruma Police Station rushed to the scene to save the man from the violent and angry mob, The names of the suspects involved in the murder of the young man have since been forwarded to sleuths from the directorate of criminal investigations who havebcommenced investigations,”
The police boss further noted that the the suspect died while receiving treatment
at the Moi teaching and Referral Hospital, and that police will ensure speedy investigations.
“He was quickly rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital by officers attached to Huruma police station but unfortunately the suspect succumbed to his injuries,we assure his family that justice will be served” Opined Masibo.
