Elgeyo Marakwet Resident Applaud President Ruto For Appointing Kipchumba Murkomen CS Roads and Transport
Elgeiyo Marakwet residents have expressed their joy after their senator Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen was appointed as cabinet secretary for Roads and Transport.
This comes after President William Ruto on Tuesday appointed Kipchumba Murkomen as Cabinet secretary for Roads and Transport.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town they said that Elgeyo Marakwet senator is equal to the task because he has traversed across the country and he knows the state of roads.
‘’We are happy for the appointment of Murkomen because we know he will complete for us the unfinished projects within the county especially roads for instance Kapcherop-Kabiego road which potatoes farmers rely on mostly in transporting their produce to the market,’’ said Isaac Chemungu ,Eldoret-Kapsowar matatu operator.
They are now hopeful that roads across Elgeiyo Marakwet County will be tarmacked to enable businesses to thrive in the county and also end Kerio valley conflicts.
President William Ruto on Tuesday announced his cabinet after bidding farewell to the previous cabinet secretaries who worked in president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
They also applauded president William Ruto for appointing women as Cabinet Secretaries in his administration.
‘’President William Ruto made a wise decision in naming his cabinet because he made gender and equality his main priority. We should be proud of that as women now are waking up. We expected new faces in the cabinet with new ideas because we want a change of ideas from the previous government.” said Henry Njoroge, Uasin Gishu resident.
Some of the women who were appointed as cabinet secretaries include Kandara MP Alice as Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS, East African Community CS was handed to Rebecca Miano, and Rosalinda Soipan Tuya named as Environment and Forestry CS.
Tourism and Wildlife CS post went to Penninah Malonza, Florence Bore has been appointed the Labour CS while Susan Wafula was named Health CS.
