EMOTIONAL SENDOFF FOR BUSIA COUNTY ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

Over 20 Security and Enforcement Officers from the County Government of Busia on Friday conducted a burial parade in honour of their colleague Corporal Fredrick Murunga Karani, 59, who was laid to rest at his Kaukotoit village home in Teso North Sub County.

Cpl Benson Burudi led the parade in the burial service attended by Chief Officer in the Governor’s Office in charge of Disaster Management and Security and Enforcement, Dr Ezekiel Okwach.

The County Government of Busia in a condolence message read by Director Security and Enforcement, Mathew Ekakoro described the late Murunga as a humble and disciplined officer whose relationship with his colleagues was cordial.

The late Murunga alias Mukasa was enlisted into the Kenya Police Force in November 1975 where he served for four years. He secured a job at Malaba Town Council as an enforcement officer in 2002 as a Security Officer III.

In 2013 during the onset of devolution, the late Murunga was seconded to the County Government of Busia as an enforcement officer. He was promoted to position of corporal where he discharged his duties diligently.

Dr Ezekiel Okwach eulogized Murunga as an officer who was dedicated to his duties, adding that he will be dearly missed by those who knew him. Dr Okwach also
delivered Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong’s condolence message.

The late Mukasa who leaves behind a widow and six children was eulogize by the family as a loving husband who always provided the best for his family.

Apart from his exemplary love for extended families and parents, the late loved football and he was a great fan of English Premier League Club Manchester United, Nigeria National team the Super Eagles and Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia.
