The Hon. Ann Wamuratha, the Woman Representative for Kiambu, recently oversaw the distribution of empowerment cheques from the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) to various community groups across the region. This initiative aims to enhance the socio-economic standing of beneficiaries and promote sustainable development.

During the distribution event, three groups in Ruiru received financial support, while four groups in Gatundu South, twelve in Thika, and seven in Juja also benefited. The total of 26 groups will use the funds to foster economic empowerment and improve their livelihoods.

“Today’s initiative underscores my commitment to uplifting lives and driving sustainable development throughout Kiambu,” Wamuratha stated. She expressed hope that the grants would act as a catalyst for personal and collective growth among the recipients.

The distribution is part of a broader plan to ensure that more community groups receive support in the near future, reflecting the government’s dedication to inclusive progress and community-driven transformation. As the county continues to navigate economic challenges, such initiatives are seen as crucial steps towards empowering citizens and fostering resilient communities.
