Equity Life Assurance Clinches Top Honors at 2024 Think Business Insurance Awards
Equity Life Assurance emerged as the leading force in Kenya’s insurance sector at the 2024 Think Business Insurance Awards, held today in Nairobi. The company was honored as the Best Life Insurer, further solidifying its reputation in the industry.
In a stellar performance, Equity Life Assurance also secured two other prestigious awards: Most Customer-Centric Underwriter – Life, and Best Insurance Company in Sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility. These accolades reflect the company’s commitment to both customer service excellence and impactful community initiatives.
GA Insurance stood out as the Best General Insurer of the Year and was recognized for its excellence in Group Medical underwriting, as well as its superior risk management practices. AAR Insurance Kenya was celebrated as the Medical Underwriter of the Year for personal insurance and lauded for its product innovations. First Assurance Company Limited took home awards for Best Technology Application and Best in Major Loss.
Equity Bancassurance Intermediary was named the Overall Best Bancassurance Intermediary, while Zamara Risk & Insurance Brokers Limited was distinguished as the Overall Best Insurance Broker of the Year.
Individual accolades were also highlighted during the event. Angela Okinda, CEO of Equity Life Assurance, was honored as Chief Executive Officer of the Year. Winnie Muchomba of First Assurance Company Limited received the Corporate Risk Manager of the Year award, and Gilo Beryl Akinyi of ABSA Life was named Young Insurance Achiever of the Year.
