Speaking during the occasion of the launch of a clinic by the Kenya Society of Deaf Children, Hon Passaris passionately noted that she is pushing for pre-admission diagnostics to be covered by the Social Health Insurance Fund – which is a successor of the NHIF.

“Some milestones geared towards inclusivity of the deaf have been achieved but a lot still needs to be done. We shall engage the Ministry of Health to see what the Social Health Insurance Fund is going to do. We strongly advocate that SHIF must cover hearing aids in a bid to make them more accessible to the neediest cases.

On a personal level, Hon Passaris donated Ksh100,000 and pledged to continue increasing the inclusion of the hearing impaired which included ensuring that they benefit from bursaries.
