Triple Olympic Gold medalist and world record holder, Faith Kipyegon, has been hailed as a beacon of inspiration after a visit to the University of Eldoret, where she was announced as the recipient of the prestigious Honorary Doctorate of Education (Honoris Causa). The announcement came as part of the University’s upcoming 13th Graduation Ceremony, set to take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

Kipyegon, who has captured the hearts of millions with her achievements on the track and her unwavering humility, was welcomed by the University Council during a special courtesy call on campus. The Chair of the University Council, Dr. Ismail Hassan, expressed his gratitude for Kipyegon’s acceptance of the honor, highlighting the significance of her achievements both in sport and as a role model for future generations.

“Faith Kipyegon is a living testament to determination, grace, and excellence. Her accomplishments, including her three Olympic gold medals, are a source of pride for the nation and for this university. We look forward to her continued mentorship and guidance, as she inspires young adults on our campus to pursue their dreams with the same focus and tenacity that she has shown throughout her career,” Dr. Hassan said in his remarks.
