Farmers in Ng’enyilel Ward, Turbo Constituency have been encouraged to embrace diversity in farming.

This is through practicing livestock keeping and planting coffee instead of solely depending on maize and beans alone.

“We are encouraging farmers to ensure that you plant coffee and therefore when planting maize, beans, and other crops you should set aside a portion to plant coffee,” stated the area MCA, Benjamin Natui.

Natui stated this during an activity of giving out 15,000 coffee seedlings to disabled people across the entire ward.

According to the MCA, the government has put in place amicable measures and a project to ensure that the disabled are given cows to rear in an attempt to support them while in turn boosting the agriculture at large.

The Ngenyilel Ward MCA added that by embracing coffee farming, the farmers will be in a position to earn more income from the farms since it has been noted that coffee farming is more profitable.

“On matters livestock farming, quality cattle breeds have been given to the disabled people and this will ensure high productivity which will in turn ease their lives and that of those taking care of them,” he said.

Natui urged the people to support President Ruto’s Finance Bill stating that it will improve and stabilize their lives.

“We want to approve the Finance bill and building of houses since it will give employment to our youths and will also ensure that Kenyans can sustain their lives,” added Natui.
