The stage is set for the much-anticipated 2nd Edition of the Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run, scheduled for December 7, 2024. Patron Farouk Kibet shared his excitement during a press briefing, revealing that the event has grown significantly, promising not only thrilling competition but also profound societal impact under the theme *”Run for Education.”

Mr. Kibet expressed joy as he highlighted the transformative nature of the event. “I am happy because, 15 days from now, this place will be filled with people from all over the world, running for a cause,” he said. The race will provide scholarships worth Ksh 10,000 each to over 1,000 students across 10 schools, with a total investment of Ksh 10 million directly benefiting the education of underprivileged children.

“Education is a fundamental right,” Mr. Kibet emphasized, recounting the challenges many parents face in affording school fees. He passionately appealed to all to unite for the cause. “If we all come together, no child will drop out of school for lack of fees. If we all come together, no parent will bear the indignity of seeing their child stay at home when they should be in school.”

The event’s scope extends beyond education. On December 2, a week before the race, a *Free Medical Camp* will be held, offering free treatment, medicine, and referrals to the community. “A healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” Kibet said, underscoring the importance of accessible healthcare.

Last year’s inaugural run was a resounding success, marked by the construction of a Ksh 70 million school funded by the Safaricom Foundation and substantial prize money for participants. This year, the event has achieved *Gold Level* status from World Athletics, elevating it to an internationally recognized level. Alongside increased prize money, participants can look forward to additional charitable efforts, including the distribution of shoes and blankets.

Looking ahead, Mr. Kibet expressed ambitions for further growth. “By the time we reach the third edition, God willing, we will upgrade the local hospital and expand the scholarship program to benefit students across the entire country,” he said.

The event would not be possible without the support of sponsors, and Mr. Kibet extended heartfelt gratitude to all partners and contributors. “Your efforts have gone a long way in directly impacting lives, and we are forever grateful,” he said.

Concluding his address, Mr. Kibet expressed confidence in the readiness of the course, the athletes, and the Chepsaita community to host guests from all over the world. “Sports has always united us as a nation. The Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run is yet another opportunity to come together as one country and run for education.”

The event promises to be a celebration of talent, culture, and unity, with Kibet warmly inviting all Kenyans and international guests to attend. “Welcome to the Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run on December 7 – *Hapa Ndipo!* May the best win,” he concluded.
