Fire Ravages Jerusalem Estate, Property Worth One Million Shillings Destroyed
A fire broke out in the Jerusalem area, engulfing a plot that housed ten rental houses, two hotels, a grocery store, and a posh mill. The buildings, constructed primarily from iron sheets and timber, were quickly consumed by the flames, resulting in significant damage estimated at one million shillings.
The incident occurred on [insert date], with the blaze spreading rapidly through the estate and threatening nearby structures. Moiben OCPD, Stephen Okal, confirmed that the police officers, alongside the Uasin Gishu fire brigade and members of the local community, responded swiftly to the emergency.
“Our officers arrived promptly at the scene, and with the crucial support of the Uasin Gishu fire brigade and brave residents, we managed to extinguish the fire before it could cause further destruction,” OCPD Okal stated.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and no lives were lost during the fire. The response team’s quick action prevented the fire from spreading beyond the affected plot and further minimizing the damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with authorities working diligently to determine how the blaze started. In the meantime, the police have urged residents to observe safety precautions and remain alert to prevent such incidents in the future.
Uasin Gishu governor Jonathan Bii visited the scene to assess the aftermath of a fire that broke out early this morning, causing extensive damage to property.
“I extend my sympathies to the affected business owners and tenants who have suffered significant losses. I appeal for their patience as investigations into the cause of the fire continue and as we explore ways to support those affected,” he said.
