Floods Devastation in Wajir South
The Northern frontier region has born the greatest blunt of flash floods as a result of heavy downpour that pounded the region
Wajir South MP Mohamed Adow shares this with us:
“1/3 Diff town in Wajir South is completely marooned by flash floods caused by the ongoing heavy rains. Most residents of the town are living in the open on higher grounds and are at the mercy of the elements.
2/3 Am grateful to the Kenya Red Cross for its prompt action in marshaling teams to carry out assessment of the situation and for mobilising much needed aid. Diff is only accessible via helicopters at the moment & might be awhile before aid gets to the affected community.
3/3 Together with other elected leaders from Wajir South Constituency, we are doing everything at our disposal to reach the flooded town. I appeal to all relevant state organs and aid agencies to swiftly come to the aid of the people of Diff town.
