Former Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarup Mishra has joined UDA Party.
Dr Mishra who served as Kesses Member of Parliament for one term vied for the seat on an independent party ticket but was defeated by the incumbent Julius Ruto on a UDA party ticket.
Speaking at UDA headquarters in Nairobi Mishra declared his allegiance as he joined President William Ruto’s ruling party.
“I am ready to work with the government and His Excellency President William Ruto to try and bring the country back to balance.” Said Mishra.
He was the first Member of Parliament to give cows and give huge amounts of bursary to his electorates.
During the August polls, the former Kesses legislator supported the opposition leader Rila Odinga’s presidential bid despite his constituency being in President William Ruto’s rural home.
The former Kesses MP Dr. Swarup Mishra recently urged his constituents to forgive him for not joining William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), noting that he had nothing personal against President William Ruto and that his move was a political miscalculation.
Mishra was defending the seat on an independent candidate after dropping his Jubilee party ticket that was then unpopular in the President’s backyard.
Mishra has been funding a program to help students from various institutions in Keses and has promised that even though he is out of office he will continue supporting the said program that he initiated.
