Govenor Wangamati Meets  CHETAMBE Hills Families as Eviction IS Put on Hold 

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has met families living in Chetambe Hills for a consultative meeting to provide a long term resolution in the interest of genuine, legitimate land owners as the planned eviction by the National Government is put on hold.
This comes after Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Forestry Keriako Tobiko, in a legal notice dated June 25, 2021 declared Chetambe land that is approximately 406.22 hectares as forest land.
Addressing the families, at Word of Faith Bible College, in Webuye East, Wangamati said the President agreed to his request to put on hold the process of eviction to allow proper consultations and public engagements before anything happens.
The Chetambe hills bear a great historical significance to the western region and  is a home to the roots and culture of the Tachoni people.
