Afrinov North Rift Coordinator Monicah Jepkosgey say the government should get serious in the fight against corruption.
Speaking to the press Jepkosgey says corruption is the root cause of high cost of living.
“As the Nation, unless we own the fact that corruption is the root cause of the high cost of living, the reason why even accessing affordable and quality healthcare is a miracle, our education system is uncertain as we even see at this point we still have our children not able to get a proper access to education due to high cost of living,” she said.
She said this as Africa marked African Anti Corruption day with the theme ‘Regional economic communities; Critical actors in the implementation of African Union convention on preventing and combating corruption,
“The nation is continuously borrowing yet we can’t even account for what has been spent. I really urge every one to take the task of saying No to corrupt practices,” she added.
North Rift CIPK Chairman Abubakar Bini echored her sentiments saying corruption is the root of poor services in the Country.
“I am calling upon the government to strengthen the commissions used tin the fight against corruption, thus should be given power to arrest and prosecute those involved in corruption,” said the North Rift CIPK Chairman.
He said of nothing will be done to empower institutions thta help I the fight against corruption Kenyans will continue getting poor services.
