Governor Barasa Commissions Water And Road Projects

The Governor of Kakamega County Fernandes Barasa led Senior County Officers and residents in commissioning an ambitious County Government funded water project at Bukura Market in Butere Sub-County.

The project collects 11,600 litres of water per hour and is capable of filling the raised 50,000 litre tank twice a day under normal sunlight.It will supply water to Bukura market, institutions and more than 300 households in the neighbourhood.

Addressing residents during the event, Governor Barasa reiterated that his Government is committed to supplying the important commodity to residents in accordance with his Manifesto call of access to water by residents at their doorstep, dubbed “Amatsi Khumuliango.”

Additionally, the Governor commissioned the 9.3km Bushiangala-Eregi-Lusiola road in Ikolomani Sub-County. The road has been upgraded by the County from all weather to bitumen.
It is expected to enhance communication between Kakamega and the neighbouring Vihiga County in addition to positioning Ikolomani Sub-County to potentially attractive investors; establishment of a Gold Refinery industry being a key priority.
