Governor Bii Announces Modern Market Facility for Simat/Kapseret

Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor Jonathan Bii engaged with residents and traders of Simat/Kapseret ahead of the establishment of a new market under the Economic Stimulus Program. This modern facility aims to enhance the local economy by providing traders and farmers with improved avenues for selling their goods and influencing pricing.

The new market will feature a one-storey building equipped with spacious stalls, ensuring ample space for traders to display their products. Essential amenities, including water and electricity connections, modern ablution blocks, lactation rooms, and state-of-the-art ICT hubs, will be incorporated to cater to the needs of both traders and customers.

Governor Bii emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “Markets are vital avenues that influence the pricing of our goods and provide traders and farmers with opportunities to grow their economy. This new facility will not only boost trade but also enhance the overall economic landscape of Simat/Kapseret.”

Accompanied by the area Member of County Assembly (MCA), Hon. Moses Kebenei, and county officials, Governor Bii highlighted the collaborative efforts involved in bringing this project to fruition. Hon. Kebenei expressed his support, noting, “This market will be a game-changer for our community, providing a modern and efficient trading environment that will benefit everyone.”
