Governor Bii Launches Dental Unit in Kapteldon Sub-County Hospital

Kapteldon Sub-County Health facility in Uasin Gishu County has had an expanded services scope following the launch of a modern dental unit.

Under the leadership of Governor Bii, the County Government has taken a proactive step towards enhancing the quality of healthcare for the residents.

Governor Bii has recognized the importance of ensuring a steady supply of drugs to healthcare facilities and has made arrangements to directly purchase drugs from KEMSA.

This move not only ensures the availability of quality drugs but also eliminates the possibility of middlemen inflating prices or distributing substandard medications.

Speaking during the launch, Governor Bii noted that in addition to procuring drugs from KEMSA, plans have been put in place to ensure drugs supply is maintained.
He further cautioned service providers against any form of embezzlement.

” It is crucial that all healthcare professionals prioritize the wellbeing of patients by using drugs for their intended purpose and not for personal gain,”

” Strict measures will be taken against those found guilty of misusing or embezzling drugs therefore the need for accountability,”said Bii.

The County Boss also noted that his administration is investing in modern diagnostic machines to enhance the accuracy of medical diagnoses which will enable healthcare professionals to identify the real cause of diseases, leading to better treatment outcomes and improved patient care.

“To further enhance efficiency in healthcare service delivery, we have partnered with ELSMED to use drones to collect samples and deliver results directly to healthcare providers. This innovative approach will significantly reduce the time taken to obtain results and enable healthcare professionals to make informed decisions promptly,”added Bii.

County Assembly Speaker, Philiph Muigei pledged the Assembly’s support in the implementation of Governor Bii’s manifesto for enhanced service delivery.

County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Dr Abraham Serem said that plans to upgrading the facility to level 4 is on and are embracing the use of technology in the unit to ensure efficient and effective dental services for the residents of Kapteldon.

“By upgrading the unit,we aim to provide state-of-the-art dental equipment and technology to ensure that patients receive the best possible care. This upgrade will enable the facility to handle complex dental procedures and offer a wider range of services,”said Dr Serem

Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr Joyce Sang noted that the facility offers 24-hour services therefore the residents of Kapteldon will have access to quality health care services and emergencies can occur at any time, and having a facility that operates 24/7 will ensure that prompt and timely treatment is available to all patients.

In attendance were Area MCA Hon Moses Kebenei,County Executives Eng Joseph Lagat,Edward Sawe,Eng Martha Cheruto, Elijah Kosgei and Chief Officers.
