Governor Bii Meets Sudi, Sitienei and Chepkonga on Finland Program

Kapseret Member of parliament Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, Ainabkoi MP Samuel Chepkonga and Turbo counterpart Janeth Rotich Sitienei on Monday held a meeting with the Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii concerning the Finland overseas program.

Bii said he updated them on the progress made in the Finland overseas program and the overall development of our country.

“While briefing the media, I made it clear to leaders and the general public that those who had been adversely mentioned have already stepped aside, and that we had also engaged the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), which is still conducting its investigations,” he said.

Govenor Bii noted that student undertaking their studies in Finland will continue their studies, and his administration is committed to ensuring that a solution will be reached for the benefit of the parents.

Kapseret member of parliament Oscar Sudi said in the meeting they agreed that no students will be deported back to Kenya, a new account has been opened with the parents of the students as Directors and Signatories.

They also agreed that parents to periodically pay for school fees as the County Government continues to being a guarantor, The program involving the new students who are yet to travel to Finland shall continue uninterrupted and that the Deputy Governor John Barorot will provide leadership in all matters surrounding Finland Program.

Sudi further noted that the office of the Governor is directly responsible in handling the issue and no middlemen or County Staff shall be allowed to transact anything on behalf of the County Government.
