Governor Bii Message to Drivers During This Festive Season
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has urged drivers to be vigilant while driving this festive season.
Governor Bii says this will prevent the loss of lives through reckless driving.
“Drivers should take Kenyan lives seriously while on the roads especially when crossing roads since a slight mistake such as speeding can lead to the loss of many lives. Kenyans should also ensure that the road is clear before crossing over even if they are in a hurry to avoid being hit by vehicles. “said the Uasin Gishu County Boss.
Governor Bii however warned Kenyans against drinking and driving during this festive season noting this might lead to loss of lives.
“I also want to urge drivers not to drink while driving and if it is a must for you to drink water, this will prevent innocent lives from being lost as a result of wrecklace driving,” he added.
Governor Bii applauded bodaboda operators in the County for observing traffic rules which have saved a lot of lives on the roads.
“It is every individual’s duty to observe traffic rules to reduce cases of accidents in the Country, this is the only sure way that will keep us free of accidents during this festive season,” said Bii.
He also called on police to ensure that residents’ properties are secure as they travel to their rural homes during this Christmas season.
“When you properly secure your rooms and homes, there would be minimal cases of intrusion into your places of residents since thieves will not have a chance to break into your homes, besides, leaving a person at home during celebrations would be important because he would secure your properties while you are away,” said Bii
The county government in collaboration with the county commissioner and county commander has assured residents of their safety and therefore no cause for alarm.
