Governor Bii, Senator Mandago Mourns the Death of Mzee Gatonye
Uasin Gishu leaders have mourned the death of Kikuyu spokesperson Mzee Joseph Kimani Gatonye.
Led by Governor Jonathan Bii said the deceased was an exemplary individual with a heart of gold.
“It is with profound sadness that I have received the news of the passing of Mzee Joseph Kimani Gatonye, the esteemed Spokesperson for the Kikuyu community residing in Uasin Gishu County.I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the entire Kikuyu community for the loss of this revered Father and leader,” said governor Bii.
He noted that Mzee Gatonye was an exemplary individual, whose unwavering courage and selfless dedication contributed significantly to the establishment of peace and harmony in Uasin Gishu County and that his legacy will forever remain an inspiration to all.
Senator Jackson Mandago wrote “I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mzee Joseph Kimani Gatonye, Chairman of the Agikuyu Council of elders in Uasin Gishu County,”
He said that Mzee Gatonye’s death is not only a blow to the Agikuyu Community but also the county as a whole.
“I have known Mzee as a strict disciplinarian and an advocate of peace and cohesion. May his Soul rest in Peace,”
