Governor Bii’s Administration to Tarmack More Roads in The Eldoret CBD
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii now says roads are enablers and crucial in provision of good network for rural and urban setups
Bii spoke after having a consultative meeting and tour with the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) officials led by the Director General Eng. Silas Kinoti and team to check on the status of roads in the County.
Bii noted that this was a build up of the recent meeting he had with the DG at his office on plans to pave roads classified under KURA.
“As part of the ongoing collaborations between the County and the National Government, focus now shifts on 200 kilometres that is yet to be paved and another 15 kilometres that is currently on design stage,” said Governor Bii.
“We have agreed with KURA that priority shall be accorded to sections of our town roads including Bandaptai and Farmers street for tarmacking and opening of the drainages in a move to achieve futuristic infrastructure planning and Intelligent Transport System even as we set our sights to become a city,” he added.
